Tonight’s dinner is:
Chicken breasts glazed in Soy Vay Hoisin Garlic Sauce
Sauteed veggies
Onion rings
It was so good! Definitely making this again soon!
My favorite thing to get from McDonald’s is the classic crispy chicken sandwich. It’s so unhealthy but I would crave it every night before I go to sleep (and it’s available 24/7). So to make it a healthier snack I decided to make my own. I used whole wheat hamburger buns, healthy chicken patties (Bell & Evans) from Wegmans, lettuce, a slice of tomato and mayo. To my surprise it tasted even better than McDonald’s!
Tonight we made P.F. Chang’s Grilled Chicken Teriyaki. It was so good it left us wanting much more! The portions were too small for one person. Next time we’ll make two.
Tonight for dinner my boyfriend and I made General Tzo’s Chicken and Yukon Gold Potatoes. It came out great! Gotta make this again soon.
General Tzo’s Chicken:
Ingredients
1 tablespoon of peanut oil
1/4 cup of scallions
2 fresh young chicken breasts
6 tablespoons of Iron Chef’s general tso’s sauce and glaze
Directions
1. Heat peanut oil and scallions in frying pan on medium heat until scallions sizzle for a minute or two.
2. Remove scallions from pan and place in bowl to use later (to prevent burning).
3. Cut chicken up into edible pieces.
4. Heat chicken in frying pan on medium heat until white throughout.
5. Add scallions and general tso’s sauce to frying pan and stir until ready
For the potatoes, just cut them up and put them in the microwave on the potatoes setting.
