Sushi is by far my favorite food.  I love it so much but at the same time I am VERY picky about it.  I don’t like a lot of rice on the roll, the spicy tuna must be mushed a certain way and I always need extra spicy mayo on the side.  When I first got to Lafayette I was told that Sogo is the place to go.  After being there once I was so upset since I knew I wasn’t going to be eating much sushi at school.  The sushi had too much rice, the fish didn’t seem fresh and the service was horrible.  I wasn’t surprised to find out last summer that Sogo got in trouble for many health violations.  Thankfully, last winter I found this little sushi place Jasmine which no one knew about.  I heard about it from one of my professors who knew about my love for sushi.  He said he took his family there.  I thought that I had done all my research on the sushi restaurants around the area but apparently I missed one! I was so excited.  I went and enjoyed great service, great sushi and a great discount (10% off for students).  This is now one of my regular lunch spots.  The lunch special is a great value and it’s not very crowded.  The restaurant is expanding and just opened a connecting side of the restaurant that offers hibachi.  Can’t wait to try it out!
