This week I expanded my idea from last week (the strangers face-melding thing). I want it to really absorb and take over the perimeter and especially the bottom half (since the bottom half is primarily supposed to be designated for “me”). The only thing I added under my section is a bath… because I miss them and I practically take one every day at home. I’ve been brainstorming of other people I could add to the top half section… haven’t really landed on anything super inspiring as of now.
Ryan Semendinger – Week 3
Week three’s color is green. I added a nice amount, trying to keep it consistent. Bottom right I left off with Japan, which should make next week’s additions pretty fun as I have a nice amount I can rattle off from there. I’m unfortunately getting stuck on the left, with the lists, but I think this will be easy to fix, any one of those authors mean much more to me than just their names so I can elaborate on those points.

Concept Map Week 2
This is week I continued to add two images on the bottom half which I have decided will be dedicated to my own thoughts/intrinsic symbolism. On the left side you will see that I have started a border or this distorted faces design where one face blends into the next by contributing to other features etc. this is intended to be like the people we pass (strangers, future friends) that affect more than we think (in my opinion). They can shape many I expect/unnoticed aspects of our/my lives/life.
Concept Map Week 2 Update
I decided to actually tape the loose leaf onto the map because I think my hesitance to go straight to the canvas says something about me. I figured the best way to begin would be to start with the things that are closest to me – each of my parents.
Concept Map Week 2
This week I began writing words. I started with the things that I feel to be positive about me or my life and began to work outwards from there. I also started to use a sharpie to highlight the words or phrases that I felt deserved to stand out. A couple of times throughout the process I found myself running into walls and having to remove myself from the room for a while before I could start again. Moving forward from here I want to make progress on the negative side before start to expand more into the positives. I think its important to have a balance of both in my work in order to keep me balanced and focused.
