Concept Map Final Update

20160503_091716

This is what my concept map panned out to be.  After running into a road block on new ideas to create for the bubble mapping, I decided to take my concept map to the one place I truly love, the beach!  I surrounded the bubble map in what I know the is and I incorporated little bits and pieces of my life in assembling the foundation.

The two pictures are to show what I updated and what the concept map looks like as a whole.  This week I focused on fun events that I did this past summer and goals that I have for this semester both academia and personal life related.  This past summer I competed in my first obstacle course race and loved it.  I did a Battle Frog and Rugged Maniac.  Goals that I have set for this semester for academics is to do well in all my classes (survive PChem) and to win the I-Prize competition with my senior design project utilizing the concept of a lateral flow assay.   Also, for personal life, I am trying to join the 1000lb club where you combined maxes on bench, squat, and dead lift equal 1000 lbs.

This concept map update focuses what I will do in the future.  As I graduate from Lafayette, I do want to take a job utilizing my degree at some point.  I also want to have a family in  the future and be able to provide for my existing family if need be.

Concept Map March 3rd…idk the week #s

This week for my concept map, I focused on things I like to enjoy.  Because I started lifting recently, I enjoy eating a lot of protein.  I’ve always enjoyed eating meat, chicken, and fish, but since its still bulky season I have more of an incentive.  A guilty pleasure of mine that I enjoy doing frequently is smoking cigars.  Something really puts me at piece like a fine cigar on a nice day or a way to end the night.  I love Ashton’s and Alec Bradley’s, but nothing is like a fine Cuban cigar.  My go to is the Cuban Monte Cristo.  Nothing can beat it in my opinion.

So this week for the concept map, I focused on more of what I want to do in the future, specifically traveling.  I wrote out areas of the world I want to see like Europe and parts of Asia.  Then, I went into specific countries like Italy, France, Austria, Thailand, etc… Finally, I wrote down the cities I want to visit stemming from there respective countries.  I pretty much wrote up some of my travels plans that hopefully I will be able to fulfill in the future.

This week for the concept map I added a couple of present tense verbs and a past tense verb.  I wanted to focus again stuff that is currently going on in my life right now and stuff that is near and dear to my heart.  I enjoy community service and philanthropy related events, so I talked about my experience with helping out the Boys and Girls Club of Easton.  I ran a soccer clinic at the Boys and Girls Club of Easton this past fall and has volunteered to help out a previous soccer clinics that occurred at the Boys and Girls club.  I talked about the philanthropy related events that I was a part of/am currently doing to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Easton.  Also, I take about my needs (I promise that I am not needy) and what things I love in life.

dixonm Concept Map Week 2

So for week 2, I started off with what I would want in the foreseeable future.  For example, I want to pick up a new hobby/sport because if I do have a hobby/sport in my life. I am more focus and regimented.  Also, I talk about what I have done in the past, such as past hobbies.  I though this was helpful because it would allow me to gauge what I would potentially want to pick up in the future.  For further work on the concept map, I want to focus more on what I can do, which is what I did the previous week., and what I will do hopefully.
