Budget Committee
Budget Committee consists of 5 Student Government representatives, including the Treasurer and Student Organizations Chair. This year, the Budget Committee members are John Doyle, Steve Gadomski, Morgan Callahan, Emily Kimmelman, and Max Greene.
Several recent changes have been made to the structure and procedure of the Budget Committee:
- Budget Committee is now a standing committee rather than an adhoc committee.
- They meet once a week to discuss pending issues.
- Supplementary Allocations must be submitted by noon on the day of the Budget Committee meeting for review and a representative must attend the meeting (in the Student Government Office) that evening.
- At the Student Government meeting each week, the Treasurer gives a Budget Committee report and Student Government votes on allocations as necessary.
- The Budgeting Classification System includes the following elements:
- Organizations have an SG Budget Liaison (likely the Treasurer) and a LAF/Landis Programming Liaison (likely the Secretary), as deemed necessary by Student Government.
- Organizations are assigned to a Block Budgeting Categories (Academic Programming, Arts & Culture, Campus Leadership, Campus Wellness, Club Athletics, School Mandate, Societal Awareness, Spiritual & Religious Programming) that allow Student Government to allocate money under fixed percentages for each of these blocks.
- Organizations are assigned to a class (1-6), which stipulates the minimum cosponsored events, maximum budget, and requirement of an SG Budget Liaison and/or LAF/Landis Programming Liaison.
