The meeting was called to order at 5:04 PM.

Motion to approve minutes from October 14th, 2009.

-Women’s Club Lacrosse approval for reactivation as a Student Government recognized sports club.

-The Open Forum with President Weiss will be on November 3rd, at 7:00 PM in Kirby Hall of Civil Rights 104.

-Sports Management and Business requested $65 in supplemental allocations for gift certificates for fantasy baseball teams.

Gregory Saybolt – Elections

-There are eight senior class students running for Senior Class Council (SCC).  Elections will take place October 22nd through October 26th through an online poll.

Courtney Morin and Nathan Terwilliger – Student Life

-For Spirit Week, New Day Dawn, which is an alumni band, will open for B.O.B. on Thursday, November 19th 2009.

Steve Gadomski – Student Organizations

-Motion to approve Women’s Club Lacrosse as a Student Government recognized class 5 sports club.

Lafayette College Student Government

October 7th, 2009

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 PM.

-Technology Entertainment Design (TED) requested $75 in supplemental allocations for food at their next meeting.

-The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) requested $250 in supplemental allocations for membership dues, office supplies, and advertisements for their upcoming event.

-Students supporting the movement on campus concerning Kirby Hall of Civil Rights, diversity and community inclusiveness discussed their beliefs and requested support.

-Kappa Kappa Gamma and Zeta Psi requested that Student Government cosponsor Fall Fest with $400.  This event will bring children from the Easton community on to campus for events and will also raise money to donate to the Easton Area Community Center.

-Gregory Schorr will be the new student member on the Student Appeals Committee.

Due to the fact that Fall Break coincided with the Budget Committee meeting this week, if you have a Supplementary Allocation request you may submit it on Wednesday. A representative from your organization should attend the SG Body meeting on Wednesday at 5 pm to present the request.

Lafayette College Student Government

-Minority Scientists and Engineers (MSE) requested $700 in supplemental allocations towards tutors for math, science, and engineering classes.

-The Lafayette Com-Artists submitted a constitution for approval as a Student Government recognized club.  The club is centered on comedy, including stand-up and improvisation.

-Club Softball requested $1000 in supplemental allocations for umpires, uniforms and transportation.

-Global China Connection (GCC) requested $150 in supplemental allocations for supplies for a traditional Asian festival.

-Women’s Rugby requested $4449.99 in supplemental allocations to buy a new scrum sled.

-Student Government will cosponsor an event at The Spot on October 17th 2009 with the First-year Class Council (FCC) that will be elected in the coming weeks.

-Student Government discussed having a large band this year for the Spring Concert since last year the budget was much smaller.

-Motion to allocate $30,000 from the Student Government account to the Lafayette Activities Forum (LAF) for the 2010 Spring Concert.

-The Leadership Toolbox was held yesterday afternoon from 4:30-7:00 PM and was successful with about 40 student leaders.

-The second Leadership Toolbox will be held next Wednesday, October 7th from 7:00-9:30 PM.

-One student member of the Student Appeals Committee resigned, so a replacement will be found as soon as possible based on applications from last year.

-A student member of the Enrollment Planning Committee also resigned and has already been replaced.  Ibtihal Hyder is the new member of the Enrollment Planning Committee.
