Lafayette College is an undergraduate institution so my research is entirely supported by undergraduate research assistants.  My primary focus is the study of the  mechanisms that generate and sustain turbulence in turbulent boundary layers.  For that we designed, built and operate a 1000 gallon recirculation research water channel, affectionately called the WUTR.

I also have an interest in turbomachinery, therefore I am also working with students on identifying the loss mechanisms in turbomachinery using a commercial CFD software package FINE/Turbo by Numeca.

Additionally, Minteq International Inc., Pyrogenics Group in Easton, PA has funded an investigation into the use of their Pyroid HT® material as a high conductivity heat sink.
